An AED is a long term and potentially life-saving purchase. Therefore, make sure to consider all your options. The following section considers all these choices such as deciding between a new or recertified unit and what brand and model is best for you. If you have any remaining questions, please contact one of our sales representatives who will be happy to walk you through your selection.
One of the biggest decisions you will have to make when purchasing an AED is whether to opt for a new or recertified unit. Of course, recertified AEDs are more budget friendly, but you should make sure to take into consideration the available warranty.
New AEDs come with Factory Warranties ranging in length from 5 to 10 years depending on the manufacturer. AED.com offers a 3 Year Warranty on our recertified AEDs with the exception of models that are out of production.
Some customers fear that a recertified unit may in some way be faulty. This is certainly not the case. There are a number of reasons a used unit may be traded in. These include the unit may have been a demo for sales reps or a customer may have decided to trade in to have the same brand as their local EMS or hospital for easy transfer.
At AED.com, we employ factory trained and certified biomedical technicians who work on the premises of our office and distribution center ensuring you prompt service. These techs follow an 11-point checklist to make sure your recertified device is ready for action. We take such care with these units, no one will be able to tell the difference between new and recertified from appearance or performance.
