Course covers CPR technique, AED use and choking relief for adults, children and infants (including uses of barrier devices).
The Heartsaver® CPR and AED course is designed for anyone who has limited or no medical training and needs to be certified in order to meet workplace regulations or any other necessary requirements. Instructors lead the class using video-based teachings as well as AHA’s Practice-While-Watching method, which allows students to be observed closely by the instructor and receive feedback while learning and performing the skills. This course covers Adult CPR (with a mask) and AED use as well as Adult Choking. Optional add-ons for the course include Child CPR and AED use, Child Choking, Infant CPR and Infant Choking. The optional additions to the course allow for flexibility and the ability to tailor it to your specific needs. Information taught includes key updates in scientific information and techniques from the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.
Materials provided include the Heartsaver® CPR AED Student Workbook as well as an Adult CPR and AED Reminder Card and a Child and Infant CPR and AED Reminder Card to keep nearby as a refresher or in case an emergency occurs. Completion of the course includes skills practice and testing with the option of a written test if it is required by your employer. Students will receive a Heartsaver® CPR and AED Completion Card that is valid for two years following completion of the course and necessary testing.
