Is it time to clean your HeartSine Samaritan PAD AED? Whether you have a Samaritan 350P, 360P, or 450P, cleaning your AED is an easy process and should only take a few minutes. Cleaning your Samaritan PAD is an important part in making sure your device is ready in the event of an emergency. While performing your regular AED inspection, check to ensure the device is free from dust or dirt. AEDs used in outside settings such as sporting events may need to be cleaned more often than those sitting inside a building. Perform the following steps in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions:
Wash your hands with warm water.
Ensure you apply gloves.
Check your HeartSine Samaritan PAD for any damage or contamination.
Take the AED out of its case.
Gently Clean the device using a soft cloth dampened by one of the following:
Isopropyl alcohol (70% solution)
If needed, dry any moisture from the device.
Remove your gloves and wash your hands.
Ensure that the readiness indicator is showing a green ready indicator.
Put the AED back into its case.
Store your AED in a secure, dry area.
PRECAUTION: Do not immerse any part of the Samaritan PAD in water or any type of fluid. Contact with fluids may seriously damage the device or cause a fire or a shock hazard.
PRECAUTION: Do not clean the Samaritan PAD with abrasive materials, cleaners, or solvents.
