New Year's Resolution – Emergency Preparedness

New Years Resolution – Emergency Preparedness

Start 2022 off with a New Year’s resolution to be prepared for any emergency that may occur in your presence. Being prepared with preventative maintenance and making sure your business is in compliance can make a difference when it comes to helping save a life.

AED Compliance Management

If you own an AED for personal use or for business use, you are responsible for ensuring they stay in compliance. Each AED must meet requirements from the FDA, the local state, and the AED manufacturers to ensure compliance and emergency readiness. These requirements can also vary based on the business type. Cardio Partners offers support in each of these areas through our LifeShield AED Compliance Management system to offer you peace of mind when it comes to helping in an emergency. With our LifeShield AED Compliance Management system you can expect the following:

  • AED Expiration Tracking – Know when pads and batteries need to be replaced as well as when training certifications expire
  • Inspection Logging – Receive monthly reminders to check your AED
  • AED Law & Legislation Tracking – Be informed of any local and state laws that change that will affect your business
  • Prescription & Medical Oversight – We provide the prescription for each AED purchased in accordance with the FDA and have a medical director approve rescue protocols
  • EMS Notification – We make your AED information available to EMS to inform them of the emergency before they arrive on the scene
  • 24-Hour Helpline – Get access to our experts 24/7

AED Preventative Maintenance

Preventative maintenance helps to address an issue or problem before it arises and ensures you have all the right up-to-date tools in an emergency scenario. With Cardio Partners’ Preventative Maintenance and Calibration, you can ensure your AED is ready. The AED is sent to our BioMed technician team to go through a 10-point inspection and service procedure. The AED is cleaned, inspected to ensure it is in acceptable cosmetic condition, upgraded to current AHA guidelines, and then turned on for a self-test and the performance information is recorded and stored. Additionally, new pads and batteries are installed for an additional price, if needed, and the battery and pad expiration dates are recorded. Lastly, tracking information is sent to the manufacturer and each AED will be connected to ensure the joule output is within FDA guidelines.
