Where’s My AED? Supply Chain Shortages Disrupt Shipping

Where is my AED?

You just ordered an AED for your business or are considering purchasing an AED, but you may have heard about the delays and backorders in the industry. That is due to a national AED shortage.

Why is there a national AED shortage?

The nationwide backorder of AEDs, AED accessories, and medical equipment is caused by global supply chain issues. Additionally, recent events encouraged by the media focused on the importance of AEDs, for instance NFL’s Damar Hamlin SCA incident, increased the demand for these rescue devices.

What is AED.com doing to help?

Our goal is to keep you informed of which devices are currently affected by this shift in demand and/or supply chain shortages.

What we are doing to help:

  • Labeling Backordered Products: Products that are affected by supply chain shortages have a message indicating there is a significant manufacturer backorder. Because supply changes quickly, we aim to update frequently, but please be patient as these updates can take time to be relayed.
  • Allowing Backorder Purchases: We want to ensure that these products can still be purchased even if there is a significant backorder. Why? These life-saving components are a crucial need to keeping individuals in your business or workplace safe. We realize this purchase should not fall off your to-do list. Purchasing a backordered AED or AED accessory essentially reserves your spot in line, so when they are back in stock, you are at the top of the list. We fulfill orders in the order they are received and with new inventory being shipped to us daily, we fulfill orders as quickly as possible.

We understand the frustration that waiting brings and apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused you. Thank you for your continued support and patience with us during this time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a product on backorder look like?

A product on backorder should have a message that reads “Manufacturer Backorder” as shown below in the photos.

What if I need my AED or AED accessory now and cannot wait?

If you are not looking for a specific AED brand or model, we encourage you to browse our available AEDs and purchase one without a “significant backorder” message. We understand that batteries and pads for your current AED are critical to it functioning properly. We recommend keeping your current battery/pads with the AED and making your purchase now to help ensure you receive them sooner than later.

Will my credit card be charged if a product is backordered?

Yes. If you decide to purchase a product that is on a significant backorder, your card will be charged to hold your spot in line. However, if you decide to cancel at any time, you can get a full refund back onto your card.

Why have I not been able to reach a customer service team member?

Due to the unfortunate global supply chain shortages and recent increase in demand for our products, our customer care team members have an extremely high volume of phone calls and emails. We apologize if we were not able to get to you in a timely manner, but please be patient as our team works their way toward getting back to you.

Who can I contact if I have questions?

If you would like to contact someone, please fill out our Contact Us form. It will open a help ticket in our system. Please keep in mind due to this shortage and increased demand, our phone and email wait times are longer than usual.
